Mark Griffin, Artist

Mark Griffin (1954-2018) was an American spiritual teacher in the lineage of Swami Muktananda as well as a practicing artist and musician. Born in the Pacific Northwest, Mark would go on to attend the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (1976-1979) and the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Working in a variety of mediums and disciplines, his extensive body of art work includes paintings (100s on large-scale canvas), drawings, photography, bronze sculpture, collage, and installation. Mark’s art work was informed by his deep understanding of the science and art of yoga as well as the attainment of its highest goal, a formless state of consciousness known as nirvikalpa samadhi. He explains, “My interest is the study of the Human Form. My art seeks to express the nature of the unseen True Self, both the individual and Universal identity.”
