Shaktipat
This is a talk from the one-day Shaktipat intensive Mark Griffin gave on May 5th, 2012 in Berkeley California.
“The key topic of this intensive is Shaktipat. The process of awakening has a kind of mechanical quality. It overrides belief. Belief and faith go hand in hand. There are two levels of faith. One is a kind of belief – we believe in theory: “I agree with that, that seems great.” But there’s another level of belief-faith, where the belief and faith begin to take on action. It begins to act upon you, and you begin to act according to the belief. It’s a big step. It’s very dramatic in the Shaktipat process. The fact is, what we call the Ocean of Consciousness is truly an ocean – endless consciousness, endless energy; and the process of Shaktipat is the process of being plugged into that. When you’re switched on, you are plugged into it; and that begins to flow into you at the crown of the head in the form of the kundalini that we call the deep lake, and at the base of the spine, the form of the kundalini called the coiled serpent. Once it starts it can’t be stopped. It’s a moment of evolution in which you’re changed forever; it’s a doorway through which you pass.”
