The Chod – 2007

Halloween is a special occasion in the Hard Light Center of Awakening, marked with the recitation and meditation of the Chöd. Chöd means “cutting through” and is practiced to remove hindrances and obstacles to evolution. In his talk before the recitation, Mark introduces us to Machig Labdrön, the Tibetan Buddhist Yogini and Siddha of the 11th century who is said to have originated the practice of Chöd. The intro is followed by the recitation itself, complete with drum and bell. And followed by a kiss by all – on one foot – to Machig herself.
