This is the transcript of five Kundalini Shakitpat Intensives and One Kundalini Meditation from 2007 to 2013.
“One of the things that I think is a stumbling block of understanding in the idea of the Kundalini as it arises here in the West, is that we are very attached to designated qualities. We know that the Kundalini is serpent energy, that it’s coiled at the base of the spine and pools at the crown of the head, and we experience it in the expression of Shaktipat; but that is only a way of thinking about it, a way of talking about it. The Kundalini, quite literally, is everything there is. If it exits, if it comes into any kind of manifestation, it does so by the grace of the Divine Mother, the MahaShakti, the Kundalini, which should be understood as the binding power and expression of the force of time. When we’re dealing with the Kundalini, we want the physicality of the body to be inside the ingredient, the equation of being. Imagine the deep lake of the Kundalini rising from the crown of your head, deep into the space over your head; and that that water, that presence, wants to press down through your body, with every breath. The coiled serpent at the base of the spine arises like the radiation-explosion of fire. With each out-breath, you feel that energy rising up through the spine, moving to the crown of the head. The Shakti is moving in both directions simultaneously. Hold with the deep movement of the bellows breath. When you are in the pocket, you will feel the actual muscles of your body, relax; and the prana of your life force will actually become more dominant than your physical body is. You’ll feel the relationship of the elements of your spine, all of the organs, changing their relationship with the movement of the prana. You’ll feel as if your back is unfolding and opening up. You’ll feel as if the front of your body is opening and relaxing. You’ll feel as if the crown of your head is like a trap door that swings open.”
