I bow to my Guru, who exists to reveal the
truth, who ceaselessly shines like the sun to
light our way, and who opens our hearts to
love all those who are dear to us.

devanagari

Yasya sthithyaa
yus – yu sthith – yaa
(break)
satyam idam
sut – yum ee – dum
Note: satyam means truth
(break)
yad bhaati
yud bhaa – tee
Note: slight aspiration with the 'bh' sound
(break)
bhaanu rupatah
bhaa – noo roo – pu – tu(h)
Note: the (h) at the end is a slight visarga sound - the faintest echo'ing of the short u sound of the final a.

Yasya sthithyaa satyam idam, yad bhaati bhaanu rupatah

Priyam putraadi
pree – yum poo– traa – dee

Note: priyam means dear or beloved

yut pree – t+yaa
